अश्वत्थः सर्व वृक्षाणाम् देवर्षीणाम् च नारदः ।
गन्धर्वाणाम् चित्ररथः सिद्धानाम् कपिलो मुनिः ॥ २६ ॥
उच्चैश्रवसम् अश्वानाम् विद्धि माम् अमृतोद्भवम् ।
ऐरावतम् गजेन्द्राणाम् नराणाम् च नराधिपम् ॥ २७ ॥
आयुधानाम् अहम् वज्रम् धेनूनाम् अस्मि कामधुक् ।
प्रजनश्चास्मि कन्दर्पः सर्पाणाम् अस्मि वासुकिः ॥ २८ ॥
आनन्तश्चास्मि नागानाम् वरुणो यादसाम् अहम् ।
पितृऽणाम् अर्यमा चास्मि यमः सम्यमतामहम् ॥ २९ ॥

uccaizravasam azvAnAm viddhi mAm amRtodbhavam |
airAvatam gajendrANAm narANAm ca narAdhipam || 27 ||
AyudhAnAm aham vajram dhenUnAm asmi kAmadhuk |
prajanazcAsmi kandarpaH sarpANAm asmi vAsukiH || 28 ||
AnantazcAsmi nAgAnAm varuNo yAdasAm aham |
pitR'NAm aryamA cAsmi yamaH samyamatAmaham || 29 ||

सर्व वृक्षाणाम् [sarva vRkSANAm] Among all trees, अहम् अश्वत्थः [aham azvatthaH] I am the Pepal. देवर्षीणाम् [devarSINAm] Among the sages who compose divine verse, च नारदः [ca nAradaH] I am Narada, who founded such compositions. गन्धर्वाणाम् [gandharvANAm] To the Gandharvas, चित्ररथः [citrarathaH] I am their chief. सिद्धानाम् [siddhAnAm] Among accomplished people, कपिलो मुनिः [kapilo muniH] I am Kapila, the ascetic who founded the philosophy of logic. विद्धि माम् [viddhi mAm] Know Me अमृतोद्भवम् [amRtodbhavam] to arise from nectar. उच्चैश्रवसम् [uccaizravasam] Know Me as the origin and king of horses अश्वानाम् [azvAnAm] among horses; ऐरावतम् [airAvatam] as Airavata, the best elephant गजेन्द्राणाम् [gajendrANAm] among the best of elephants च नराधिपम् [ca narAdhipam] and as the leader of humans नराणाम् [narANAm] among human beings. आयुधानाम् [AyudhAnAm] In weapons, अहम् वज्रम् [aham vajram] I am the hard sharpness. धेनूनाम् [dhenUnAm] In cows, कामधुक् अस्मि [kAmadhuk asmi] I am the one who satisfies wishes. कन्दर्पः अस्मि [kandarpaH asmi] I am the love प्रजनः [prajanaH] which begets progeny. सर्पाणाम् [sarpANAm] Among the snakes of this world, वासुकिः अस्मि [vAsukiH asmi] I am Vasuki, who is the most worshipped snake, whom the gods and demons employed to churn the ocean. नागानम् [nAgAnam] To all snakes, अहम् आनन्तः [aham AnantaH] I am Adishesha. यादसाम् [yAdasAm] Among the beings who live in water, अहम् वरुणः [aham varuNaH] I am Varuna. पितृऽणाम् [pitR'NAm] To the ancestors, अर्यमा अस्मि [aryamA asmi] I am a companion and friend. सम्यमताम् [samyamatAm] To the people who maintain control, अहम् यमः [aham yamaH] I am self-restraint.

Among trees, I am the revered Pepal tree.

Among the sages who compose divine verse, I am Narada, who has founded such compositions.

I am the divine cow Surabhi, who satisfies wishes.

I am the love that’s responsible for progeny.

Vasuki is the supreme among single-headed snakes and Adishesha, on whom the Lord rests, is the supreme among multi-headed snakes. To the creatures who live in water, I am Varuna, the one who sustains all of them. To the people who maintain control, I am self-restraint.
