For Eternal Beginners
श्री भगवान् उवाच -
कालोऽस्मि लोक क्षयकृत् प्रवृद्धो
लोकान् समाहर्तुम् इह प्रवृत्तः ।
ऋतेपि त्वा न भविष्यन्ति सर्वे
येऽवस्थिताः प्रत्यनीकेषु योधाः ॥ ३२ ॥
zrI bhagavAn uvAca -
kAlo'smi loka kSayakRt pravRddho
lokAn samAhartum iha pravRttaH |
Rtepi tvA na bhaviSyanti sarve
ye'vasthitAH pratyanIkeSu yodhAH || 32 ||
श्री भगवान् उवाच [zrI bhagavAn uvAca] Lord Krishna said - कालोऽस्मि [kAlo'smi] I am the count-down to destruction. प्रवृद्धः [pravRddhaH] I transformed into this terrible form. लोक क्षयकृत् [loka kSayakRt] This form of Mine causes the wear-out and destruction of the universe. इह प्रवृत्तः [iha pravRttaH] I have set to work समाहर्तुम् [samAhartum] the destruction लोकान् [lokAn] of the warriors here. ऋतेऽपि त्वा [Rte'pi tvA] Even without your involvement, ये योधाः [ye yodhAH] all warriors who अवस्थिताः [avasthitAH] stand प्रत्यनीकेषु [pratyanIkeSu] among the unfavorable न भविष्यन्ति [na bhaviSyanti] shall not continue to exist.
The Lord says ‘I am the count-down to destruction’ - I count the remaining lifespan of the sons of Dhrtarashtra and other kings under their leadership. I have grown into this terrible form, which will destroy them. I have set out here to personally supervise their destruction.
Thus, by My intent alone, those warriors who stand unfavorable to you, with the sons of Dhrtarashtra at their head, shall not continue to exist. They will be destroyed. This shall be so, even without you and your efforts.
