अपि चेत्
[api cet]
Even if असि
[asi]
you are पापकृत्तमः
[pApakRttamaH]
the most miserable पापेभ्यः
[pApebhyaH]
among all those who have done wrong, सन्तरिष्यसि
[santariSyasi]
you will cross over सर्वम् वृजिनम्
[sarvam vRjinam]
all the misery ज्ञानप्लवेन एव
[jJAnaplavena eva]
by the boat of knowledge alone.
Even if you have done more wrong than all other wrong-doers, you will cross over the entire sea of your past wrong-doings by the knowledge of the Self alone. It’s like crossing the ocean in a ship.
