अर्जुन उवाच -
कैर्लिङ्गैः त्रीन् गुणान् एतान् अतीतो भवति प्रभो ।
किम् आचारः कथम् चैतान् त्रीन् गुणान् अतिवर्तते ॥ २१ ॥

arjuna uvAca -
kairliGgaiH trIn guNAn etAn atIto bhavati prabho |
kim AcAraH katham caitAn trIn guNAn ativartate || 21 ||

अर्जुन उवाच [arjuna uvAca] Arjuna said: अतीतो [atIto] A person who has crossed over त्रीन् गुणान् एतान् [trIn guNAn etAn] these three qualities - कैः लिङ्गैः [kaiH liGgaiH] with what characteristics भवति [bhavati] is he present? प्रभो [prabho] Lord, किम् आचारः [kim AcAraH] what is his behavior च कथम् [ca katham] and how does he अतिवर्तते [ativartate] cross over एतान् त्रीन् गुणान् [etAn trIn guNAn] these three qualities ?

When a person crosses over these three qualities of sattva , rajas and tamas , what are the characteristics that distinguish him? What are his behaviors? What actions give him this characteristic to realize his Self? What is the method to cross over these three qualities ?
